The DeceasedOnline.co.uk 2016 sale deadline approaches. Get double credits on vouchers for England, Wales, Republic of Ireland, and Scotland burial records if you order before midnight (British Summer Time) on 29 August 2016.

All voucher purchases double in value under the “buy one get one free” offer. Voucher purchases start at £5.00 (approx. US$6.57). For every voucher purchased, the same value will be added to your account in the form of a bonus. I was happy to see that vouchers that had expired were also returned to my account.

As I’ve noted before, this site offers free searches of a centralized database for burials and cremations in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. However, like ScotlandsPeople, you can search DeceasedOnline.co.uk for free, but viewing and downloading actual records costs a certain number of credits. Available records include:

  • Digital scans of cremation and burial registers
  • Digital scans of books of remembrance
  • Photographs of graves and memorials
  • Cemetery maps showing grave locations
  • Other occupants in the same grave

Deceased Online digitizes UK burial and cremation records. They work with local authorities to bring together register records, maps, and photographs into a central searchable collection. No official central repository from the British government exists for these records. DeceasedOnline notes:

Millions of unique burial and cremation records from thousands of cemeteries and crematoria are available on the Deceased Online website, with many more coming soon.

From September 2016 into early next year, Deceased Online will be adding records for some major collections around the UK. …We can divulge that records for two of the most important historic cemeteries in the country and for several key cities and rural areas will be added soon.

So Deceased Online has been invaluable to me for sorting out from each other my many Scots Ross and Mutch family members in Aberdeen and the Highlands. By the way, I have no financial relationship with the DeceasedOnline.co.uk 2016 Sale. I just like their resources.
