I’m geneablogging at Jamboree 2011 panel entitled, “Blogger Summit I – Beginner to Blogger in 60 Minutes,” to talk about my first year as a geneablogger writing about family history research.

Geneablogging at JamboreeIt’s clear that being a geneablogger has helped my family research, and best of all linked me to a warm and wonderful community of other geneabloggers.

The biggest unexpected dividend of geneablogging is that my Gen X nieces and nephews (the plural is nieblings according to a friend of mine) have gotten more interested in our family history via my blog entries and Facebook posts.

Hope to see you today via geneablogging at Jamboree and in the future at my Sassy Jane Genealogy blog.

Update 2017: the Geneablogger community has grown and developed into the Geneabloggers Tribe.

GeneaBloggersTRIBE is a community of content providers supporting one another with expertise and encouragement as we share our family histories. Our members provide a wide variety of genealogy content across numerous platforms including blogging, vlogging, podcasting, and nearly all forms of social media.

GeneaBloggersTRIBE spotlights member content to spark interest and drive traffic to members sites. We inspire with content prompts and assist with technical support. We bring people together from all over the world with meet-ups at regional and national conferences.

Together is better.  Read More Here.
