First Friday Genealogy Newsletter
Each issue of the First Friday Genealogy Newsletter comes to you from my perspective as a professional archivist and genealogist.
A new family history research topic is explored each month, with direct links to important resources for your genealogy research.
You’ll also find information on the latest in US and European research and records. Newsletter articles highlight what you’ll find and the best ways to search these sites.
Additional topics include choosing and using apps and other technology for genealogy research.

The Genealogy Newsletter That Helps Your Research
Nancy worked professionally in genealogy libraries and academic archives for decades. She helped thousands of researchers with primary sources and managed archival digitization projects. Now she concentrates on genealogy full-time through her Sassy Jane newsletter, ebooks, blog, presentations, and client research.
Her newsletter contains articles on search strategies, research skills, and a wide range of resources for U.S. and European genealogy research. Find tips & tricks for leading genealogy providers. Discover lesser known sites to search for your ancestors. And technology tips–scanning, using metadata, and the latest apps and browser extensions are also reviewed.
New titles in the Sassy Jane Genealogy ebook series are featured too. With these ebooks, you can organize your genealogy research, catalog family photographs, simplify sources and citations, and search smart and find more.
Readers often ask me where the Sassy Jane name comes from. While doing 1920s newspaper research, I saw ads for Sassy Jane rayon frocks. I think these flapper girls and their frocks, like the one at left, are delightful. And now they combine my love of vintage fashion with genealogy on my website.
