I’m very happy to be going to SLIG 2020. Six months from today, I’ll be in Salt Lake City, about to begin my fourth class at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy.

For too many years, I’d think about going and then read that all the classes filled instantly. So I filed it away on my Someday list. If SLIG is on your Someday list, today is the day as registration opened this morning and classes are still available.

Why SLIG? It’s great to learn in a concentrated way. And it’s also great to have the Family History Library available close by for research. But perhaps best of all is being with other dedicated genealogists. You know, the people who get what you’re talking about right away and who never slide away with glazed eyes, like the relatives at a family party.

So that’s why I’m happy to be going to SLIG 2020. I’ll be in Course 1: Settlers in the New World and Immigrants to a New Nation: Colonial Times to 1900. Will I meet you there?
